Mark Craney 1952 - 2005

Our beloved Mark passed away in his sleep early this morning at Sherman Village, a sub-acute care facility in Sherman Oaks, CA. Mark survived a stroke in the brain stem on August 18 and re-learned how to breathe, speak and swallow over the last three months. He worked hard on his recovery and was making good progress despite several medical setbacks. Regretfully, pneumonia won out. Mark's sister Jeanne and many friends spent meaningful time with Mark on the days prior to his passing. We will miss him and hold him in our hearts forever.

We will post memorial details as soon as plans are finalized.

Mark's Moved

Hi everyone,

Last week, Mark moved to "Sherman Village" which is a sub-acute care facility in Valley Village, California. The address is 12750 Riverside Dr. The facility is about a block East of Coldwater Canyon, on the South side of the street, across the street and down a bit from Hugo's restaurant.

The folks at Sherman Village have asked us not to call them to inquire about Mark's condition, since they need to focus all their time and resources on caring for Mark and other patients. Best times to visit are 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

We got some encouraging news on Mark today. Provided he has no further complications or setbacks, he has a good chance of recovering fully. It may be a long road, but certainly our Mark has traveled that path before...we believe he will blaze that trail again. If you haven't had a chance to see Mark in ICU at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, please feel free to pay him a quick visit.

p.s. Here's a picture of the quintessential Mark, taken in the 70's. Isn't it just the perfect shot???
